As featured in Katia Harston's, Barnsley Chronicle article and on Dearne Fm, 25th June 2010
Little Jasper & Oscar (pictured) are 8 week old brothers, born under a garden hedge. They came to us at 4 weeks old and have come along very well. They are both very affectionate and active little chaps and love nothing more than playing with the other kittens in our cattery.
However, both have severely deformed rear left legs, we are not sure as to whether these are birth defect or as a result of abuse / injury. Unfortunately in 3 or 4 weeks Jasper & Oscar are going to have to have operations to amputate these limbs. These procedures will be carried out by our good friends at Churchfield veterinary Centre, in Barnsley.
These are costly operation, more than our normal budget can finance, so we are appealling for donations to help pay for their treatment and give them back what will be a good quality of life.
We have already had a pledge of £100 but still need in the region of a further £500.
If any of you can help us and wish to donate, no matter how small the donation, everything will help, then please make cheques payable to Maureen's Penistone Cat Rescue, or you can just click on the Donate bullet logo below and donate through our PayPal account
Thankyou
Maureen & Richard

Well this is the first time, I think this year that I have been able to sit down and dare I say get on top of the website.
We have had family illness and 2 bereavements over the last 6 months , which has taken most of our time. Thankyou to everyone who offered us their sympathies.
My Father who had a hip replacement operation some 9 months ago now, is fully recovered, but at 87 years old, I don't think he will be going clubbing it again!!
In amongst all this, we have had a full cattery for quite a while and the kittens are now pouring in through our doors. Year after year, things don't get any better.
Maureen and Sharman have also gone out promoting the gospel according to MPCR. Back in May they made their first public presentation to the Penistone Womens Institute, they had an enjoyable evening, made even better by the fact that they didn't put any of the ladies to sleep.
We have also been busy fund raising at various events and venues, Please don't forget our Jewellery Party at Cubley Hall Hotel on the 30th June, next Wednesday evening.
Our appeal to help Jasper & Oscar, is going reasonably well, to date we have received some very generous donations totalling £240. Thankyou to all who have donated.
Please remember our sucess depends on your donations, not only of money but also food. Churfield Veterinary Centre, who have a pop in surgery in Penistone (at the top of Church Street) between 2pm - 3pm Monday to Friday, have a collection box in their waiting room for such donations. Donations of your unwanted birthday or christmas presents would also be appreciated as we can use these as raffle or tombola prizes. These can also be left at Churchfield, brought to us or we can collect if necessary.
We are now active on Facebook with 126 members and have a presence on YouTube, which gives me something else I have to keep up to date, I guess I'm a glutton for punishment!
As at the time of writng this, we have now re-homed a total of 594 cats & kittens with all charities we have worked with
Any Comments or ideas would be appreciated, you can either e-mail us or leave a comment in our guestbook
